OAM : Access Server Service Missing when installing Access Manager with ADSI for AD on Windows

If you are planning to install Oracle Access Manager on Windows with Active Directory with ADSI then after Access Server Installation, you would see Access Server Service missing. This is known bugin Oracle Access Manager (OAM) on Windows with ADSI option and documented in Oracle My Support Note 406233.1  Access Server Service Is Not Getting Created When Installed With ADSI. This bug was first reported in 10.1.4.0.1 but still applicable for OAM version 10.1.4.3 (I wish if Oracle Documentation Team could include this in their OAM Documentation)

.

Image shows services screen after Access Server installation and Service specific to Access Server (“Oracle Access Manager Access Server (XXXXX)“) is missing and Fix is to reinstall Access Server using configureAAAserver tool .

.

.

What is ADSI and how is it related to OAM ?
A
ctive Directory Services Interface (ADSI) is of open interfaces that abstract the capabilities of directory services from different network providers to present a single view for accessing and managing network resources, Think of ADSI as client to Microsoft Active Directory. In OAM use of ADSI with AD (Active Directory) is optional. ADSI with ADAM (Active Directory Application Mode) is NOT supported in OAM.

More on ADSI with OAM here and here

.
What is configureAAAserver tool in Oracle Access Manager ?
ConfigureAAAServer (where AAA stands for Authentication Authorization and Auditing) is utility in OAM’s Access Server to install, remove or configureAccess Server . More on ConfigureAAAserver here

Hi Atul,

Though not related to this post, I would like to check whether the integration of Oracle Access Manager is possible with these 3 products.
1. Oracle Billing and Revenue Management
2. Oracle Financials
3. Oracle Fusion

If the integration is possible, would you please point to any docs/blogs etc.,

@ Mahendra,

1. Oracle Billing and Revenue Management
Could you please send me link for this product .

2. Oracle Financials
I hope you mean Oracle E-Business Suite 11i or R12 here . Yes integration is possible but you first need to integrate EBS with 10g SSO (OID) and then integrate 10g SSO with OAM SSO.

3. Oracle Fusion
Is this Oracle Fusion Middleware (if yes then integration is possible this is very well documented, list which middleware component i.e. SOA or WebCenter or UCM)
If this is for Fusion Applications then product is not yet out in market
