WebLogic Admin Server Start-up hanging at “Initializing self-tuning thread pool”

If you start WebLogic Admin Server and if Admin Server hangs at “Initializing self-tuning thread pool” then look for following

  • Ensure that /tmp has space (Weblogic Diagnostic Framework DFW)
  • If there is enough disk space in /tmp then try clearing tmp and cache folder from $DOMAIN_HOME/servers/AdminServer
  • Check /tmp has write permission for user starting WebLogic Admin Server

After ” Initializing self-tuning thread pool ” server goes into the starting mode and open the Log file for writing logs under $DOMAIN_HOME/servers/AdminServer/logs
