This post is in response to question on Oracle Apps Forum<\/a>\u00a0“In Oracle Apps R12<\/strong>\u00a0JSP’s are not compiled on the fly anymore (default in 11i is compile<\/strong>)\u00a0but will only be compiled when a patch is being applied (adpatch<\/strong>)\u00a0or\u00a0manually as explained below (ojspCompile.pl<\/strong>)” .\u00a0 To change this behaviour on R12 development<\/strong> instance use below method<\/p>\n

To compile the jsp as soon as you access\u00a0jsp page<\/u><\/strong> :<\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> Change s_jsp_main_mode<\/strong> in R12 context file (XML file)<\/p>\n

\u00a0 <jsp_debug_parameters oa_var=”s_jsp_main_mode”>justrun<\/strong><\/jsp_debug_parameters><\/p>\n

change it to<\/p>\n

\u00a0 <jsp_debug_parameters oa_var=”s_jsp_main_mode”>recompile<\/strong><\/jsp_debug_parameters><\/p>\n

2.<\/strong>Run Autoconfig (adautocfg.sh<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

Autoconfig will update file
\n$INST_TOP\/ora\/10.1.3\/j2ee\/oacore\/application-deployments\/oacore\/html\/orion-web.xml
\n<\/strong>

How to compile JSP manually
\n<\/u><\/strong>
\nperl ojspCompile.pl \u2013compile \u2013flush<\/strong>\u00a0 (Unix)
\nor
\nperl ojspCompile.pl \u2013compile \u2013flush -p 2<\/strong> (Unix where -p means parallel execution)<\/p>\n

perl -x ojspCompile.pl \u2013compile \u2013flush<\/strong> (Windows)<\/p>\n

ojspCompile.pl is under $FND_TOP\/patch\/115\/bin\/<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>* JSP’s are compiled automatically after patching (whenever patch updates one or more jsp it calls ojspCompile.pl to compile JSP)<\/p>\n

JSP Compilation logs<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 11i, all jsp compilation errors are logged in $IAS_ORACLE_HOME\/ Apache\/ Jserv\/ logs\/ mod_jserv.log<\/strong><\/p>\n

In R12, all jsp compilation errors are logged in $LOG_HOME\/ ora\/ 10.1.3\/ j2ee\/ oacore\/ oacore_default_group_1\/ application.log<\/strong><\/p>\n
