This article covers how to troubleshoot Oracle HTTP Server<\/strong> (OHS aka Oracle Apache, Apache or Web Server) in Oracle E-Business Suite R12.<\/p>\n

Web Server background in Oracle Apps R12 : <\/strong>Web Server (OHS)\u00a0is built on Apache and part of Application Server 10g R3 (10.1.3) in Oracle Apps R12 ( in Oracle\u00a0Apps 11i version is 9iAS or 1.0.2.2.2 )<\/p>\n

Configuration file<\/strong>: $ORA_CONFIG_HOME\/ 10.1.3\/ Apache\/ Apache\/ conf\/ httpd.conf <\/strong>(or $INST_TOP\/ ora\/ 10.1.3\/ Apache\/ Apache\/ conf\/ httpd.conf<\/strong>)
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 For successful start of Apache, adapcctl.sh<\/strong> exit code should be 0<\/strong> , If this value is non zero i.e. 150 or 204 then identify root cause of non zero exit code (check logs)<\/p>\n

\nWhere to look for Apache logs in EBS ?<\/strong>\u00a0
\n<\/u>1.<\/strong>First check Apache startup log which is at $LOG_HOME\/ appl\/ admin\/ log\/ adapcctl.txt<\/strong> (If no issues go to step 2)
\n2.<\/strong> Next check $LOG_HOME\/ ora\/ 10.1.3\/ opmn\/<\/strong> HTTP_Server~1 <\/strong>(If no issues go to step 3)
\n3. <\/strong>Next check $LOG_HOME\/ ora\/ 10.1.3\/ Apache\/<\/strong> error_log<\/strong>.[number] & access_log<\/strong>.[number] (with latest timestamp)<\/p>\n

\nStartup sequence : <\/u><\/strong>
\n1.<\/strong> adapcctl.sh<\/strong>is main script to start Apache (adstrtal.sh calls adapcctl.sh to start Apache)
\n$ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME\/ adapcctl.sh [option]
\n2.<\/strong> This script can take three options start<\/strong>, stop<\/strong>, status<\/strong>
\n3.<\/strong> This script will set environment variable pointing to 10.1.3 ORACLE_HOME<\/strong> by running\u00a0 $INST_TOP\/ ora\/ 10.1.3\/ $CONTEXT_NAME.env<\/strong>
\n4. <\/strong>adapcctl.sh will run $INST_TOP\/ ora\/ 10.1.3\/ opmn\/ bin\/ opmnctl start<\/strong>(This command will start opmn)
\n5.<\/strong>On successfull start of opmn , script will issue $INST_TOP\/ ora\/ 10.1.3\/ opmn\/ bin\/ opmnctl startproc type=ohs<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 (OHS stands for Oracle HTTP Server)<\/p>\n
