Oracle Identity and Access Management can logically be divided into three main categories<\/p>\n

– Directory Service<\/strong> (OID<\/span>, Virtual Directory, DIP)
\n– Access Management<\/strong> (Access Manager, Identity Federation, AS SSO<\/span>, OeSSO<\/span>)
\n– Identity Management<\/strong> (Identity Manager & DAS<\/span>)<\/p>\n

1) Directory Services –<\/u><\/strong> overview including OID<\/span>, I have already covered in past at OID<\/span> overview<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2) Access Management:<\/u><\/strong>
\nA) Access Manager <\/strong>– Controlling User Access to Enterprise resources. It also provides web based Identity Administration & access control to applications & resources. Provides User, password and group management. User access policies can be defined and enforced with high granularity.<\/p>\n

B) Identity Federation – <\/strong>Allows companies to operate independently and enable cross domain user provisioning.<\/p>\n

C) Single Sign-on –<\/strong> It provides built in integration with customer’s IM<\/span>
\nand addressing key challenges (for cross domain access) like automatic mapping, identity mapping access control navigation.<\/p>\n

D) eSSO<\/span> –<\/strong> Enterprise SSO<\/span> is upcoming product which provide true SSO<\/span> for all application and resource in an enterprise, without modifying existing
\napplications.<\/p>\n

3) Identity Management:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

A) Identity Manager –<\/strong> Allows automated user identity provisioning and deprovisioning<\/span>. Key features of Identity Manager are password management, workflow<\/span> & policy management, Identity reconciliation, reporting and Auditing. Identity manager also supports attestation (confirming access rights by user or system manager periodically). This is requirement from SoX<\/span> compliance.<\/p>\n

B) DAS<\/span> – <\/strong>Delegating Administrative Services provides trusted proxy based
\nadministration at User or Administrator level.<\/p>\n

What is available to download & Install ?<\/strong>
\nThere are two packages available which you can download & install based on requirement
\n– Oracle<\/em> Identity Management and Access Management Suite<\/em> (OID<\/span>, Virtual Directory, Access Manager, Federation and Identity Manager)
\n– Oracle Application Server Infrastructure Component <\/em>(OID<\/span>, DIP, SSO<\/span>, DAS<\/span>)<\/p>\n
