Almost all oracle products (E-Business Suite 11i\/R12, Portal, Application Server, Forms &amp; Reports &#8230; ) <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\" class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\">integration<\/span> with Active Directory is done via <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_5\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span> (OAS component).<\/p>\n<p><strong>For more information on <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_6\" things to note in Integration of <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_7\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span> with Active Directory<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\n<strong>1.<\/strong> Users can be created in AD and propagated to <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_8\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span> or Vice <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_9\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">Versa<\/span> or can<br \/>\nbe created in both and then <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_10\" class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\">synched<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> Password for users<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;-<strong>2.a<\/strong>) can be stored in AD and not <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_11\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span>(You can authenticate against AD) via External Authentication Plug-in (created in <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_12\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span>)<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<strong>2.b<\/strong>) Can be stored at both places AD &amp; <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_13\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span> and <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_14\" class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\">synhced<\/span> regularly<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> User synchronization between <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_15\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span> and AD (from <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_16\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span> side, both import &amp; export) is done via DIP (Directory Integration &amp; <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_17\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">Provisioning<\/span> ) component of <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_18\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong> Synchronization of user (to &amp; from) between <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_19\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span> and AD is done by predefined connector (shipped with OIDwhich you can modify\/configure as per your need)<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong> Synchronization between AD-<span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_21\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span> via above mentioned connector can be one way (import only or export only) or two way (both import and export)<\/p>\n<p><strong>6.<\/strong> You can <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_22\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">synch<\/span> all or particular <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_23\" class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\">attributes<\/span> of user entry which you wish to configure (this is done via mapping file- <strong><span style=\"font-size: 85%\">More on mapping files coming soon..<\/span><\/strong>)<\/p>\n<p><strong><u><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Configuration Highlights<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> Synchronization of users between <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_24\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span> &amp; AD happens via synchronization profile (including connect detail, direction of <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_25\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">synch<\/span>, <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_26\" class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\">attribute<\/span> and source &amp; target domain) created during installation of <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_27\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> Three <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_28\" class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\">provisioning<\/span> profile one to choose depending on requirement)<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> These provisioning profiles can be customized using <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_41\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">dipassitant<\/span><br \/>\n(<strong><span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_42\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">dipassistant<\/span> &#8211;<span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_43\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">gui<\/span><\/strong>) or using <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_44\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">LDAP<\/span> commands (<span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_45\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">ldapadd<\/span> or <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_46\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">ldapmodify<\/span>)<br \/>\n<strong>4. <\/strong>If you are synchronizing from AD to <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_47\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span> where AD is multi-domain and global catalog is not configured <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_48\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">againt<\/span> Multi domain AD, then you need<br \/>\none synchronization profile per domain for AD but if global catalogue is<br \/>\nconfigured you create only one provisioning profile against <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_49\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">GC<\/span> (global<br \/>\ncatalog and not garbage collector); If synchronization is from <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_50\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span> to AD<br \/>\n(with multiple domain) you need <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_51\" class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\">provisioning<\/span> profile for each domain<br \/>\nirrespective of global catalog (<span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_52\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">GC<\/span> doesn&#8217;t play a role in <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_53\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">synch<\/span> for<br \/>\nExport from <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_54\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">OID<\/span> to AD)<br \/>\n<strong>5.<\/strong> Decide on what information to synchronize and at what location in<br \/>\ndirectory information tree to synchronize.<\/p>\n<p><a
