Here are few questions which you should think\/ask\/discuss for Oracle Applications 11i & R12 Integration with 10g Application Server (Portal, Discoverer, SSO<\/span>, OID<\/span>)<\/p>\n

Do you need 10g Portal component<\/span> of 10g AS with Oracle Applications 11i & R12 ?<\/strong>
\n(*Integration of 10g AS can be without portal and dicoverer<\/span> as well i.e. OID<\/span> & SSO<\/span> only. For 10g portal Integration you must have SSO<\/span> and OID<\/span><\/span>)<\/p>\n

Do you need 10g Discoverer component of 10g AS with Oracle Application 11i ?<\/strong>
\n(* You can have discoverer with or without SSO<\/span> access<\/span>)<\/p>\n

Do you need SSO<\/span> and OID<\/span> component of 10g AS with Oracle Applications 11i \/ R12 ?
\n<\/strong>(*You can configure only SSO<\/span>\/OID<\/span> for Single Sign-On access with or without Portal and Discoverer<\/span>)<\/p>\n

Do you need 10g Web Cache component of 10g AS with Oracle Applications 11i ?<\/strong>
\n(*You can configure webcache<\/span> with or without Portal\/OID<\/span>\/SSO<\/span>. With Portal webcache<\/span> is default<\/span>)<\/p>\n

Do you have third party access management (Netegrity<\/span> SiteMinder<\/span>, Oblix<\/span> COREid<\/span>) for Single Sign-On ?<\/strong>
\n(* You can configure 10g SSO<\/span> with third party access management via Oracle SSO)<\/span><\/p>\n

Source of Authentication in Oracle Apps 11i \/ R12?
\n<\/strong>(* –You can configure authentication at E-Business Suite, Oracle SSO<\/span>, Third party SSO<\/span> or combination of above.
\n–Configuring authentication, local to E-Business for some users and for others SSO<\/span> is also supported<\/span>)<\/p>\n

—Do you have third party LDAP<\/span> directory<\/strong> (Microsoft Active Directory, Sun iPlanet<\/span>) which you want to synch<\/span> with OID<\/span> and E-Business Suite ?
\n(* You can use third party ldap<\/span> server for user store integrated with OID<\/span> and then synched<\/span> to E-Business Suite Users)
\n<\/span>—– If third party LDAP<\/span> Server is in place check following things for OID<\/span> to third party integration (DIT<\/span>, Default Realm, nickname attribute)
\n—–As of Integration build 5 synching<\/span> users from E-Business to OID<\/span> is supported with default realm only. Take special care if you have multiple realms in LDAP<\/span> Server<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>
\n—One SSO<\/span> User account can be mapped to Multiple Users in E-Business Suite<\/strong> (other way is not supported), Do you need this ?<\/p>\n

—Multiple E-Business Suite can use Single OID<\/span>\/SSO<\/span> Instance<\/strong> or each E-Business Suite Instance can be registered with its own OID<\/span>\/SSO<\/span>. For Dev & Test E-Business Suite you may be interested in registering them to single OID<\/span>\/SSO<\/span> Instance.<\/p>\n

—User Creation\/Management\/Updates<\/strong> : From OID<\/span> to Apps, Apps to OID<\/span> or bidirectional<\/p>\n

— Attributes to synch<\/span> during ongoing Updates<\/strong>
\n* All user attribute sync can’t be updated between OID<\/span> & E-Business Suite. Check provisioning profile used for synch<\/span> between Apps & OID<\/span><\/span>
\n* Check if TCA<\/span> tables are updated as required with User Updates in OID<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

— Decide on how Users will be loaded Initially<\/strong> :
\n—-From OID<\/span> to E-Business (Users are already in OID<\/span> but E-Business Suite is new implementation)
\n—- E-Business Suite to OID<\/span> (Users are already in E-Business Suite but OID<\/span> is new implementation)
\n—- In both E-Business Suite & OID<\/span> (OID<\/span> and E-Business both has user base but not in sync) You can reconcile user base in Apps & OID<\/span><\/p>\n

— E-Business Suite Home Page<\/strong> (Portal or Framework)<\/p>\n

— Is Password Policy in E-Business Suite<\/strong> different from Password policy in SSO<\/span> ? Things like
\n—-User should change password on first time login<\/span>
\n—-Password Strength, minimum number of characters & at least<\/span> few some number
\n—-Password will expire after n number of days<\/p>\n

—Idle Session Time out for SSO<\/strong>
\n* By default there is no Idle Session timeout in Oracle SSO<\/span> Server (There is default Global Session Time Out set at SSO<\/span> with value 8 hours) but E-Business Suite is configured with Idle Session time out of 30 minutes. To set Idle Session time out value to desired value in SSO<\/span> Server check <\/span>Oracle SSO Admin Guide<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n
