This post covers overview of OAM Configuration tool which automates some parts\u00a0of integrating Fusion Middleware with Oracle Access Manager (Installation of OAM components + WebGate\u00a0is still required and not covered by OAM Configuration Tool<\/font>)<\/p>\n

First some terminology for those who are new to Access Manager and Fusion Middleware
\nOAM –<\/strong>Oracle Access Manager is Oracle’s recommended Web Single Sign-On solution which also provides Identity and Access Management and is part of Oracle Identity Management Suite.<\/p>\n

OFM –<\/strong>Oracle Fusion Middleware is set of middleware products (WebLogic, SOA, WebCenter, Content Management, Business Intelligence….) from Oracle.<\/p>\n

oamcfgtool.jar<\/strong> – is jar file which contains java classes and other files required to automate integration of Oracle Fusion Middleware<\/strong> 11g with OAM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

OAMCFGTOOL <\/strong>– is an Automated script (oamcfgtool.jar<\/strong>)\u00a0to configure policies and authentication schemes required to integrate fusion middleware applications (webcenter\/soa) with OAM .<\/p>\n

Is oamcfgtool.jar mandatory for integration of OAM with Fusion Middleware 11g (SOA, Webcenter) for Web Single Sign-On and authentication ? <\/strong>
\nNo<\/strong>, oamcfgtool.jar is\u00a0NOT <\/strong>mandatory, It just automates process . You can also integrate OAM with Oracle Fusion Middleware manually (details on how to integrate OAM with SOA\/WebCenter 11g without oamcfgtool.jar later) .
\n.<\/p>\n

What happens when you run oamcfgtool in CREATE mode ?
\n<\/strong>OAMcfgTool does the following
\na)<\/strong> Create forms based authentication schemes in OAM
\nb) <\/strong>Create policies to enable authentication in WebLogic Server
\nc) <\/strong>Policies to protect and unprotect URIs (protected_uris, public_uris)<\/p>\n

Where to find oamcfgtool.jar ?
\n<\/strong>This file comes with Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g R1 PS1 (11.1.1.2.0) installation of type SOA, WebCenter\u00a0and is available at $MW_HOME\/oracle_common\/mudules\/oracle.oamprovider_11.1.1\/<\/p>\n

Syntax of OAM Configuration Tool
\n<\/u><\/strong>
\n$JAVA_HOME\/bin\/java -jar oamcfgtool.jar mode=CREATE [param=value]…<\/p>\n

You would need java (atleast version 6) to execute and parameters include<\/p>\n

app_domain <\/strong>Oracle Access Manager policy domain name
\nweb_domain<\/strong> Name of the web domain. This is automatically created by the OAMCFGTOOL if no value is passed.
\nprotected_uris<\/strong> “uri1,uri2,uri3”
\napp_agent_password<\/strong> Password to be provisioned for App Agent
\nldap_host<\/strong> Host name of LDAP server
\nldap_port<\/strong> Port of LDAP server
\nldap_userdn<\/strong> DN of LDAP Administrator user
\nldap_userpassword<\/strong> Password of LDAP Administrator user
\noam_aaa_host<\/strong> Host name of an Oracle Access Manager
\noam_aaa_port<\/strong> Port of an Oracle Access Manager
\nWhat If\u00a0you hit issues while running oamcfgtool.jar ?
\n<\/strong>You can use optional parameter log_file<\/strong> and log_level<\/strong>(ALL, SEVERE, WARNING, INFO, CONFIG,\u00a0FINE, FINER, FINEST, OFF – default) with oamcfgtool.jar to debug issue<\/p>\n
