Patches in Oracle Fusion Middleware are applied using OPatch utility<\/a>. I recently applied a patch on Oracle Identity Management Home which contained two domains – IDMDomain & base_domain .<\/p>\n

Syntax<\/strong><\/u>– To apply patch using OPatch<\/strong> utility<\/p>\n

cd $PATCH_TOP\/<patch_dir><\/p>\n

opatch apply -auto<\/p>\n

Error encountered<\/strong><\/u> –<\/p>\n

ApplySession failed:
\nThe given Oracle Home ‘$mw_home\/Oracle_IDM1’ has
\nbeen sourced to configure multiple WebLogic domains.
\nPlease use the -domain option to specify the domain for which to perform the auto operations.
\nSystem intact, OPatch will not attempt to restore the system<\/font><\/p>\n

OPatch failed with error code 73<\/p>\n

Solution <\/strong><\/u>–\u00a0 use below syntax to specify the domain on which patch should be applied<\/p>\n

opatch apply -auto -domain <domain_name><\/strong><\/p>\n

In my case domain name was IDMDomain, socommand look like:-<\/p>\n

opatch apply -auto -domain IDMDomain<\/p>\n

If you don’t know the domain name, you can check domain name by running below command:-<\/p>\n

opatch lsdomains <\/strong>[-oh ORACLE_HOME] [-mw_home MW_HOME]<\/p>\n
