This post covers high level steps to install Oracle Identity Management (OIM) 11.1.1.4 (11gR1 PS3) which covers Oracle Internet Directory (OID), Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) and Oracle Identity Federation (OIF). For full list of all Oracle Identity Management products click here<\/a><\/p>\n

Key Points for Oracle Identity Management Installation<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

1.<\/strong>There are two executable\/installers for Oracle Identity Management
\n—a)<\/strong> Oracle Identity Management (aka IDM)\u00a0which is currently on version 11.1.1.4\u00a0. This installer\u00a0contains products OID, OVD\u00a0and OIF
\n—b)<\/strong> Oracle Identity and Access Management (aka IDAM)\u00a0which is currently on version 11.1.1.3. This installer contains products OAM, OIM (Identity Manager), OAAM, OIN and OPM\u00a0<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong>IDM \u00a011.1.1.4 (containing OID, OVD and OIF) is patchset which means you must first install base release of IDM i.e. 11.1.1.2<\/p>\n

3.<\/strong> IDAM 11.1.1.3 (containing OAM, OIM, OAAM, OPM and OIN)\u00a0is base release. To install IDAM use steps by step\u00a0installation guide here<\/a><\/p>\n

4.<\/strong> If you are installing IDM (OID\/OVD\/OIF) then SOA suite is NOT<\/strong> required. SOA suite is required for Oracle Identity Manager\u00a0only which is product from Identity and Access Management Suite (IDAM).<\/p>\n

5.<\/strong> If you are planning to install just Oracle Internet Directory (OID) then you can create schema (database schema containing OID data) either before using RCU<\/a>\u00a0 or during configuration stage (OID configuration stage). For OIF and OVD schema , you must create them before config<\/strong> using RCU<\/a><\/p>\n

6.<\/strong> For Oracle Identity Management (OIM) 11.1.1.4 installation you would need
\na) Database – Oracle 10g , 11g R1 and 11gR2 are supported
\nb) WebLogic Server – only 10.3.4 (do not use lower or higher version of WebLogic)
\nc) RCU – 11.1.1.4.X (RCU 11.1.1.4 is available as patch 11060956) . For list of all FMW 11g R1 PS3 patches check here<\/a>
\nd) IDM – 11.1.1.2.0
\ne) IDM 11.1.1.4.0 patch (patch number is (11060980)<\/p>\n

7. <\/strong>If you are installing just OID<\/strong> (No<\/strong> DIP<\/a> \u00a0\u00a0or ODSM<\/a>\u00a0) then WebLogic is NOT<\/strong> required.<\/p>\n

High Level OIM 11.1.1.4 Installation Steps<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> Install Database<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> Load schema using RCU 11.1.1.4 (For just OID you can skip this step and create schema during config stage 5<\/font>)<\/p>\n

3. <\/strong>Install WebLogic 10.3.4
\n
\n4.<\/strong> Install IDM 11.1.1.2 (select “Install Software – Do Not configure<\/strong>” option)<\/p>\n

5. <\/strong>Apply IDM 11.1.1.4 patch\u00a0(select ORACLE_HOME created in setp 3 above)<\/p>\n

6.<\/strong> Configure\u00a0IDM using config.sh<\/strong>(or config.bat) from $MW_HOME\/Oracle_IDM1\/bin\u00a0\u00a0 (This location is also known as Oracle Home for IDM\/OIM) . More information on MW_HOME or ORACLE_HOME here<\/a><\/p>\n
