{"id":2376,"date":"2011-03-29T15:58:20","date_gmt":"2011-03-29T19:58:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/onlineappsdba.com\/index.php\/2011\/03\/29\/oracle-enterprise-content-management-ecm-11g-installation-overview-ucm-ibr-ipm-irm-urm\/"},"modified":"2011-03-29T15:58:20","modified_gmt":"2011-03-29T19:58:20","slug":"oracle-enterprise-content-management-ecm-11g-installation-overview-ucm-ibr-ipm-irm-urm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onlineappsdba.com\/index.php\/2011\/03\/29\/oracle-enterprise-content-management-ecm-11g-installation-overview-ucm-ibr-ipm-irm-urm\/","title":{"rendered":"Oracle Enterprise Content Management (ECM) 11g Installation Overview : UCM\/ IBR\/ IPM\/ IRM\/ URM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This post covers quick overview of Oracle Enterprise Content Management (ECM) 11g installation.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/onlineappsdba.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/ecm_install_1.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/onlineappsdba.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/ecm_install_1.gif\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Oracle Enterprise Content Management (ECM) 11g consists of following products<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Universal Content Management (UCM) 11g includes content server<\/li>\n<li>Inbound Refinery (IBR) 11g &#8211; conversion server to convert documents, images and videos<\/li>\n<li>Image and Process Management (I\/PM) 11g &#8211; framework of client software module to manage document right from image capture to archiving.<\/li>\n<li>Information Rights Management (IRM) 11g &#8211; secures and tracks sensitive digital information everywhere it is stored\u00a0and used.<\/li>\n<li>Universal Records Management (URM) 11g &#8211; manages content item on a retention schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Things good to know about ECM 11g installation<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> Current latest version of ECM 11g (as of 21 March 2011) is 11.1.1.4<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong>ECM 11g runs on Oracle WebLogic Server (<font color=\"#ff0000\">Install WebLogic 11g R1 PS3 i.e. 10.3.4 for ECM 11.1.1.4<\/font>), other software required to install ECM 11g are<br \/>\na) Database &#8211; containing ECM schema<br \/>\nb) Repository Creation Utility (RCU) &#8211; to create ECM schema in database<br \/>\nc) ECM 11g software<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> If you are using IPM (Image and process Management) with BPEL Process Manager and Oracle Application Extension Framework (AXF) (<font color=\"#ff0000\">for integration with Oracle E-Business Suite or Siebel CRM<\/font>) then you would also need SOA Suite (11.1.1.4) and JDeveloper and\u00a0Application Development Framework\u00a0(ADF) 11.1.1.4<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. <\/strong>If you are new to WebLogic Server then learn <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/onlineappsdba.com\/index.php\/2008\/07\/24\/domain-administration-managed-server-cluster-in-oracle-weblogic\/\">Domain, Admin Server and Managed Server in WebLogic<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>5. <\/strong>Default user store for ECM is\u00a0WebLogic&#8217;s embedded\u00a0LDAP server.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Oracle ECM 11g High Level Installation Steps<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> Install Database<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> Create schema for ECM using RCU 11.1.1.4, more on RCU <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/onlineappsdba.com\/index.php\/2009\/07\/03\/oracle-fusion-middleware-11g-repository-creation-utility-rcu\/\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. <\/strong>Install WebLogic Server 10.3.4 (<font color=\"#ff0000\">This step will create Middleware Home a.k.a. MW_HOME and WebLogic Home aka WL_HOME<\/font>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong> Install Enterprise Content Management (ECM) 11g &#8211; Installer will create binaries for UCM, IBR, IPM, IRM and\u00a0URM (<font color=\"#ff0000\">This step will create\u00a0Oracle Home for ECM\u00a0a.k.a. ORACLE_HOME\u00a0for ECM or ECM_ORACLE_HOME . This step will also create Oracle Common Home aka ORACLE_COMMON_HOME containing Fusion Middleware Control and Java Required Files (JRF)<\/font>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. <\/strong>Configure Enterprise Content Management (ECM) by running <strong>config.sh<\/strong>\/<strong>cmd<\/strong> (<font color=\"#ff0000\">This step will create\u00a0Domain, Admin\/Managed \u00a0Server\u00a0for WebLogic and
