Webcenter provides various ways to integrate content with webcenter portal applications & webcenter spaces like:<\/p>\n

1) Content Presenter task flow – Lets you customize the selection & presentation of content in a WebCenter applications
\n2) Documents Service task flows-\u00a0 Lets user to access, add, and manage, search folders and files.
\n3) Document components- Lets you to display individual file on a page in various ways like- a link, an inline frame(content displayed as preview), an image etc
\n4) Wikis- Add wiki documents for users to collaborate .
\n5) Blogs- Add blogs for end users to add, edit, and manage blog postings<\/p>\n

Documenty Service enables you to view and manage content in your content repositories(like Oracle Content Server, Microsoft SharePoint, Oracle Portal, and the file system).
\nFor doing so, document service need atleast one active content repository connection. (Refer Here<\/a> for details)<\/p>\n

Things Good to know:<\/strong><\/u>–
\n1) WebCenter applications support multiple content repository connections but only the active connection will act as the default content repository for the application.<\/p>\n

2)WebCenter Spaces requires the default content repository to be Oracle Content Server. You can configure other connections as well which spaces will use but default must be “Oracle Content server”.<\/p>\n

3) When Oracle Content Server is the content repository, the Documents service and Oracle Content Server must be connected to the same identity store that is used by WebCenter application.<\/p>\n

4) File system connections must not be used in production or enterprise application deployments.<\/p>\n

5) Oracle recommends not to change root folder & application name values in connection however if you have to do so then change both values.<\/p>\n

Steps To Register Content repository for webcenter Spaces application:-<\/strong><\/u>
\n1)Enable\u00a0 Folders_g, DynamicConverter & WebCenterConfigure Component in content server:
\nLogin to content server –> administration –> Admin Server —> Component Manager–>select components above & update.
\n2)Configure IBR (Refer doc here<\/strong><\/u><\/a> for steps)
\n3)Login to Fusion Middleware control & navigate from the WebCenter menu , under WC Spaces, choose Settings > Service Configuration.
\n4)From the list of services on the WebCenter Service Configuration page, select Content Repository.
\n5)Click add to make a new content repositoryconnection
\n6) On screen enter details as per below fields:-<\/p>\n

Connection Name<\/strong>– Field need to unique for each content server connection.<\/p>\n

Repository Type<\/strong>– Should be \u201cOracle Content Server\u201d for Webcenter Spaces.<\/p>\n

Active Connection<\/strong>– Select this check box ,if you wish to use this content server for connection by default or as primary. In multiple connections environment WC will connect to all connections.<\/p>\n

Content Administrator<\/strong>– This user will be used to create, maintain & manage folders for WebCenter content.The default content administrator is sysadmin. (ensure this user exist in your identity store & have administrator group assigned)<\/p>\n

Root Folder- This will be the folder within the content repository under which all WC application content is stored. For the Root Folder value, you must specify a content repository folder that does not yet exist.<\/p>\n

format will be like: \/foldername<\/p>\n

Application Name<\/strong>– This will be the Webcenter Spaces Application name within the content server to which connection is made & should be unique.
\nThis application name will be used as prefix to seeded workflow &workflow steps, to separate data when multiple WebCenter Spaces applications share the same content repository and hence it should be unique across applications.<\/p>\n

RIDC Socket Type<\/strong>– This is to specify whether Oracle Content Server connects on the content server listener port or the Web server filter, and to a\u00a0 SSL enabled listener port.
\nServer Host<\/strong>– Enter the hostname of machine where Content server is running.
\nServer port<\/strong>– Oracle Content server listener port, defaults to 4444 & corresponds to the IntradocServerPort parameter in the Content Server configuration file (default location- $DOMAIN_HOME\/ucm\/cs\/config\/config.cfg)<\/p>\n

Authentication Method<\/strong>– If WC application & Content Server uses same identity store to authenticate users then we can select \u201cIDENTITY PROPAGATION\u201d else select \u201cExternal Application\u201d if an external application authenticates users against the Oracle Content Server.<\/p>\n

Web Server Context root<\/strong>– defaults to \/cs (you can get the info under $DOMAIN_HOME\/ucm\/cs\/config\/config.cfg)<\/p>\n

7)Test the connection & save it. Restart WC application managed server<\/p>\n

Login to WC Spaces Apps, click ” Documents” tab, it will now show the folder & sub folders of the content repository.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
