{"id":2467,"date":"2011-06-08T06:37:08","date_gmt":"2011-06-08T10:37:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/onlineappsdba.com\/index.php\/2011\/06\/08\/steps-to-make-content-respository-connection-in-webcenter-11g\/"},"modified":"2011-06-08T06:37:08","modified_gmt":"2011-06-08T10:37:08","slug":"steps-to-make-content-respository-connection-in-webcenter-11g","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onlineappsdba.com\/index.php\/2011\/06\/08\/steps-to-make-content-respository-connection-in-webcenter-11g\/","title":{"rendered":"Steps to Make Content Respository Connection in Webcenter 11g"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Webcenter provides various ways to integrate content with webcenter portal applications &amp; webcenter spaces like:<\/p>\n<p>1) Content Presenter task flow &#8211; Lets you customize the selection &amp; presentation of content in a WebCenter applications<br \/>\n2) Documents Service task flows-\u00a0 Lets user to access, add, and manage, search folders and files.<br \/>\n3) Document components- Lets you to display individual file on a page in various ways like- a link, an inline frame(content displayed as preview), an image etc<br \/>\n4) Wikis- Add wiki documents for users to collaborate .<br \/>\n5) Blogs- Add blogs for end users to add, edit, and manage blog postings<\/p>\n<p>Documenty Service enables you to view and manage content in your content repositories(like Oracle Content Server, Microsoft SharePoint, Oracle Portal, and the file system).<br \/>\nFor doing so, document service need atleast one active content repository connection. (Refer <a href=\"http:\/\/download.oracle.com\/docs\/cd\/E17904_01\/webcenter.1111\/e12405\/wcadm_documents.htm#CIHCACHI\" target=\"_blank\">Here<\/a> for details)<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Things Good to know:<\/strong><\/u>&#8211;<br \/>\n1) WebCenter applications support multiple content repository connections but only the active connection will act as the default content repository for the application.<\/p>\n<p>2)WebCenter Spaces requires the default content repository to be Oracle Content Server. You can configure other connections as well which spaces will use but default must be &#8220;Oracle Content server&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>3) When Oracle Content Server is the content repository, the Documents service and Oracle Content Server must be connected to the same identity store that is used by WebCenter application.<\/p>\n<p>4) File system connections must not be used in production or enterprise application deployments.<\/p>\n<p>5) Oracle recommends not to change root folder &amp; application name values in connection however if you have to do so then change both values.<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Steps To Register Content repository for webcenter Spaces application:-<\/strong><\/u><br \/>\n1)Enable\u00a0 Folders_g, DynamicConverter &amp; WebCenterConfigure Component in content server:<br \/>\nLogin to content server &#8211;&gt; administration &#8211;&gt; Admin Server &#8212;&gt; Component Manager&#8211;&gt;select components above &amp; update.<br \/>\n2)Configure IBR (Refer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oracle.com\/pls\/as111140\/lookup?id=INECM1225\" target=\"_blank\"><u><strong>doc here<\/strong><\/u><\/a> for steps)<br \/>\n3)Login to Fusion Middleware control &amp; navigate from the WebCenter menu , under WC Spaces, choose Settings &gt; Service Configuration.<br \/>\n4)From the list of services on the WebCenter Service Configuration page, select Content Repository.<br \/>\n5)Click add to make a new content repositoryconnection<br \/>\n6) On screen enter details as per below fields:-<\/p>\n<p><strong>Connection Name<\/strong>&#8211; Field need to unique for each content server connection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Repository Type<\/strong>&#8211; Should be \u201cOracle Content Server\u201d for Webcenter Spaces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Active Connection<\/strong>&#8211; Select this check box ,if you wish to use this content server for connection by default or as primary. In multiple connections environment WC will connect to all connections.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Content Administrator<\/strong>&#8211; This user will be used to create, maintain &amp; manage folders for WebCenter content.The default content administrator is sysadmin. (ensure this user exist in your identity store &amp; have administrator group assigned)<\/p>\n<p>Root Folder- This will be the folder within the content repository under which all WC application content is stored. For the Root Folder value, you must specify a content repository folder that does not yet exist.<\/p>\n<p>format will be like: \/foldername<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Name<\/strong>&#8211; This will be the Webcenter Spaces Application name within the content server to which connection is made &amp; should be unique.<br \/>\nThis application name will be used as prefix to seeded workflow &amp;workflow steps, to separate data when multiple WebCenter Spaces applications share the same content repository and hence it should be unique across applications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RIDC Socket Type<\/strong>&#8211; This is to specify whether Oracle Content Server connects on the content server listener port or the Web server filter, and to a\u00a0 SSL enabled listener port.<br \/>\n<strong>Server Host<\/strong>&#8211; Enter the hostname of machine where Content server is running.<br \/>\n<strong>Server port<\/strong>&#8211; Oracle Content server listener port, defaults to 4444 &amp; corresponds to the IntradocServerPort parameter in the Content Server configuration file (default location- $DOMAIN_HOME\/ucm\/cs\/config\/config.cfg)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Authentication Method<\/strong>&#8211; If WC application &amp; Content Server uses same identity store to authenticate users then we can select \u201cIDENTITY PROPAGATION\u201d else select \u201cExternal Application\u201d if an external application authenticates users against the Oracle Content Server.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Web Server Context root<\/strong>&#8211; defaults to \/cs (you can get the info under $DOMAIN_HOME\/ucm\/cs\/config\/config.cfg)<\/p>\n<p>7)Test the connection &amp; save it. Restart WC application managed server<\/p>\n<p>Login to WC Spaces Apps, click &#8221; Documents&#8221; tab, it will now show the folder &amp; sub folders of the content repository.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Webcenter provides various ways to integrate content with webcenter portal applications &amp;
