Middleware and installed with following Fusion Middleware components<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oracle HTTP Server &amp; WebCache<\/li>\n<li>Oracle Forms, Reports, and Discoverer<\/li>\n<li>Oracle Internet Directory and Virtual Directory<\/li>\n<li>Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fusion Middleware <strong>System Components<\/strong> (<font class=\"Apple-style-span\" color=\"#ff0000\">there are two type of components in Fusion Middleware\u00a0&#8211; System Component and Java Component<\/font>) are started using OPMNCTL from $ORACLE_INSTANCE\/bin directory and logs are recorded in $ORACLE_INSTANCE\/diagnstics\/logs\/OPMN\/&lt;opmn&gt; directory.<\/p>\n<p>If you face below error during OPMN start then check OPMN logs to troubleshoot<br \/>\n______<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><font class=\"Apple-style-span\" color=\"#ff0000\">RCV: No such file or directory<br \/>\nCommunication error with the OPMN server local port.<br \/>\nCheck the OPMN log files<br \/>\n\/oracle\/fusionapps\/mididm\/Oracle_IDM1\/opmn\/bin\/opmn: unexpected exit: code 512<br \/>\nopmnctl startall: opmn failed to start.\u00a0<\/font><br \/>\n______<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In my case error reported in OPMN logs at \u00a0$ORACLE_INSTANCE\/diagnstics\/logs\/OPMN\/opmn\/opmn.log<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">____<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><font class=\"Apple-style-span\" color=\"#ff0000\">[2011-10-27T23:29:46][opmn][ERROR:1][17][OPMN][code:ons-listener]127.0.0.1,6700: BIND (Address already in use)<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><font class=\"Apple-style-span\" color=\"#ff0000\">[2011-10-27T23:35:59][opmn][NOTIFICATION:1][90][OPMN][code:ons-internal]ONS server initiated<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><font class=\"Apple-style-span\" color=\"#ff0000\">[2011-10-27T23:35:59][opmn][NOTIFICATION:1][522][OPMN][code:pm-internal]PM state directory exists: \/oracle\/fusionapps\/mididm\/asinst_1\/config\/OPMN\/opmn\/states<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">______<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This means OPMN Local Port 6700 is already in use by some other process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><u>Fix <\/u><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>1.<\/strong> Identify which process is using port 6700 (on Linux as root user run &#8220;<strong>lsof | grep 6700<\/strong>&#8220;) and terminate process using port 6700<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">If above solution is not acceptable then<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>2.<\/strong> \u00a0Change OPMN local port in $ORACLE_INSTANCE\/config\/OPMN\/&lt;opmn&gt;\/opmn.xml and change value defined against <strong>local<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><font class=\"Apple-style-span\" color=\"#ff0000\">&lt;port local=&#8221;6700&#8243; remote=&#8221;6701&#8243;\/&gt;<\/font><\/p>\n<p
