OIM 11g is covered in my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Oracle-Identity-Access-Manager-Administrators\/dp\/1849682682\">book<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This post is quick how to export\/import files from\/to MDS which is also covered in Oracle Documentation <a href=\"http:\/\/download.oracle.com\/docs\/cd\/E21764_01\/doc.1111\/e14309\/utils.htm#\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> cd $ORACLE_HOME\/server\/bin<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> Open file <strong>weblogic.properties<\/strong> and update following<\/p>\n<p><strong>wls_servername<\/strong>=oim_server1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">This is name of OIM server, you can get server name from weblogic console<\/span>)<br \/>\n<strong>application_name<\/strong>=oim\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ( <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">oim if file is OOB file or OIMMetadata if this is custom file<\/span>)<br \/>\n<strong>metadata_from_loc<\/strong>=\/home\/fusionapps\/scripts\/metadata\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Location of directory on file system that contains file which you wish to import; used during import process<\/span>)<br \/>\n<strong>metadata_to_loc<\/strong>=\/home\/fusionapps\/scripts\/metadata\u00a0 (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Location of file on file system which you wish to import, used during import process<\/span>)<br \/>\n<strong>metadata_files<\/strong>=\/db\/*\u00a0 (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Name of file which you wish to export\/import like \/db\/oim-config.xml or user * which represents all files in that folder<\/span>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> Set <strong>OIM_ORACLE_HOME<\/strong> to OIM ORACLE_HOME<\/p>\n<p>export OIM_ORACLE_HOME=\/oracle\/apps\/idam11115\/mid\/iam (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">replace value with OIM Oracle Home<\/span>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong>\u00a0 Execute export\/import command like<br \/>\n.\/<strong>weblogicExportMetadata.sh <\/strong><br \/>\nor<br \/>\n.\/<strong>weblogicImportMetadata.sh <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>5. <\/strong>When prompted for username\/password enter weblogic administrator username\/password<\/p>\n<p><strong>6. <\/strong>When prompted for Server URL , enter Admin Server URL like <strong>t3:\/\/onlineAppsDBA.com:14000\u00a0<\/strong> (here onlineAppsDBA.com is server name on which OIM Server is running and 14000 is port of OIM Server) &#8211; [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Thanks Sunny for pointing this out<\/span>]<\/p>\n<p>For any errors check log file under $DOMAIN_HOME\/servers\/&lt;OIMSrverName&gt;\/logs<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Most of Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) 11g configuration files are stored in database under Metadata Services (MDS).
