\"Times<\/a><\/p>\n

This post covers installation of Oracle TimesTen In-Memory<\/strong> Database.\u00a0 I am going to use this TimesTen Database as repository for Oracle Communication and Mobility Server\u00a0(OCMS <\/a>) installation in my future post.<\/p>\n

What is TimesTen In-Memory Database ?
\n<\/u><\/strong>TimesTen is memory resident relational database for fast response and high throughput. TimesTen database is used by applications\/industry which require very quick turn around time from database like Telecommunication, Defence.<\/p>\n

Prepare for\u00a0TimesTen Installation<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Add timesten operating system user like
\nuseradd timesten
\n<\/strong>2. Create directory\/etc\/TimesTen <\/strong>owned by user timesten
\n(This directory is used as Instance Registry by TimesTen Database)
\nmkdir \/etc\/TimesTen <\/strong>(from root user)
\nchown timesten:timesten \/etc\/TimesTen <\/strong>(from root User)<\/p>\n

3. Download software TimesTen In-Memory database
\nfrom here<\/a><\/p>\n

TimeTen Installation on Linux<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> Unzip software (tar file)\u00a0 like tar -cvf timesten70400.linux86.tar<\/strong> and change directory to linux86<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> Start Installation by running setup.sh <\/strong>and choose default\u00a0product 1. to install i.e. \u00a0Oracle TimeTen In-Memory database<\/strong> (This is requirement for OCMS – Oracle Communication and Mobility Server)<\/p>\n

\"Oracle<\/a><\/p>\n

3.<\/strong>\u00a0 When prompted for\u00a0component select default 1 i.e. Client\/Server and Data Manager <\/strong>4.<\/strong>\u00a0 When prompted for installation directory either change directory\u00a0of your preference or choose default location i.e. $HOME
\n<\/a><\/p>\n

5.<\/strong> When prompted for Would you like to enable datastore access control<\/strong> select NO (Ensure you choose No for OCMS usages)<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

6.<\/strong> Choose default options for rest of installation<\/p>\n

Verifying that Times Ten Database is up and running

\n$TimesTen_Home\/bin\/ttStatus<\/p>\n

Starting \/ Stopping Times Ten <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

$DatabaseTimesTen_Home\/bin\/ttdaemonadmin -start
\n$TimesTen_Home\/bin\/ttdaemonadmin -stop<\/p>\n
