We need to\u00a0change apps password manually, if you forgot and can’t check it in wdbsvr.app <\/strong>at $IAS_ORACLE_HOME\/Apache\/modplsql\/cfg\u00a0.<\/p>\n

Please remember that the APPLSYS and APPS passwords always
\nhave to be the same<\/strong>. Always change both at the same time<\/strong>. When changing these
\npasswords, it is important to change the APPLSYS password first and the APPS later.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n

please back up the FND_ORACLE_ID<\/strong> and FND_USER<\/strong> tables before beginning.<\/p>\n

1. Have all users log out of applications.<\/p>\n

2. Shutdown the concurrent managers. (You can’t shutdown using adcmctl.sh if you don’t know apps password so use frontend)<\/p>\n

3. Log in to applications as System Administrator.<\/p>\n

4. Navigate to Security> Oracle> Register<\/p>\n

5. Query up all available Oracle Ids.<\/p>\n

(NOTE: do not log out of this session<\/strong> of Applications until you have verified
\nthat all the following steps have been completed successfully).<\/p>\n

6. At the same time, login to SQL*PLUS as the SYSTEM<\/strong> user.<\/p>\n

7. In the applications session, enter the new password for APPLSYS<\/strong>. Re-enter (Same time do it in SQLPLUS ,after finishing Application part))
\nthe same password when asked to re-enter the password to confirm.<\/p>\n

8. Save the change.<\/p>\n

Note: At this point of the procedure you will see a “Caution” dialog box which states the following:<\/p>\n

“You are changing the APPLSYS password. Doing so will affect the whole system”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

NOTE: The first character of the APPLSYS password MUST NOT BE a numeric<\/strong>.
\nUse only alpha characters for the first character in the APPLSYS password.
\nall APPS schema passwords to match the APPLSYS password.<\/p>\n

9. In the same applications session, change the APPS password.<\/p>\n

Note: Re-query the form (query – run) every time after changing the APPS
\npassword. If it is not re-queried and the APPS password is changed again<\/strong>, it is
\nimpossible to continue.<\/p>\n

10. In the SQL*Plus session, issue the following statements to change the
\npasswords in the database, where ‘XXX’ is the password assigned to that
\nuser in the previous steps:<\/p>\n

sql>ALTER USER APPLSYS IDENTIFIED BY XXX<\/strong>;
\nsql>ALTER USER APPS IDENTIFIED BY XXX<\/strong>;
\n“Remember don’t log out from the application yet”<\/p>\n

11. Open a NEW session in applications, WITHOUT CLOSING THE PREVIOUS SESSION,
\nand log in.<\/p>\n

If log in is successful, the change was successful. Otherwise, repeat steps 5
\nonward, ensuring the same password is used for both APPLSYS and APPS, in both
\napplications and SQL*Plus.<\/p>\n

Followed the Metalink Doc Note:160337.1<\/strong>
\nBut no need to change the password for APPLSYSPUB<\/strong> and in metalink note they did not mention about autoconfig<\/strong>..<\/p>\n
