I discussed about availability of\u00a0 Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle Apps) version 12.2<\/a>, and pre-requisites and installation of Oracle E-Business Suite release 12.2.2<\/a><\/p>\n

In this post I am going to cover configuration screens while installing\/configuring\u00a0Oracle Applications 12.2. Ensure that you have done all steps as mentioned in Part I<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> Start EBS 12.2.x Installer from root<\/strong> user as<\/p>\n

cd $R12.2_SOFTWARE\/startCD\/Disk1\/rapidwiz\/ <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> Select Port Pool<\/strong> : Select port pool for services as you used to do in previous versions 12.1.x or 11i<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> Oracle Apps 12.2 uses dual file system . more on dual file system in 12.2 later.<\/span><\/p>\n

3.<\/strong> Select Database Type<\/p>\n

a) Fresh Database<\/strong> : Use this for production or where you don’t need vision environment.<\/p>\n

b) Vision Database<\/strong> : Use this option if you need vision data in R12.<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: Base directory<\/strong>\u00a0(\/d01\/oracle\/prod) mentioned above should already be created and owned by Database user (oracle:dba) defined above.<\/span><\/p>\n

4.<\/strong> License Additional Products : If you need any additional products you can license it now .<\/p>\n

Note: You can license addtional products after installation as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

5.<\/strong> If you are planning to use multi-language (language other than american english) then recommendation is to select Databse character set as AL32UTF8<\/strong><\/p>\n

6.<\/strong> Provide Application Tier details<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: Apps OS user (applmgr:dba) should be able to create directory under\u00a0Base directory<\/strong> (\/d01\/oracle\/prod) .<\/span><\/p>\n

Note: I created application tier<\/strong> user applmgr<\/strong> and database tier<\/strong> user oracle<\/strong> using same group i.e. dba<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

More on dual file system i.e. File System 1<\/strong>\u00a0& File System 2<\/strong> later. <\/span><\/p>\n

7.<\/strong> Provide Application Tier & database\u00a0user password . <\/span><\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: WLS Admin User is WebLogic Server Administrator user used to login to WebLogic Console . WebLogic Server is newly introduced in Oracle Apps 12.2<\/span><\/p>\n

8.<\/strong> If you plan to deploy application tier<\/strong> on multiple nodes<\/strong> then click on Add Server<\/strong> button at bottom.<\/p>\n

Note: I am doing single node installation i.e. Application Tier and Database Tier on single host\/machine.<\/span><\/p>\n

9.<\/strong> Installer will validate system configuration and if any check fails then click on ! next to check .<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: In my case Port Availablity<\/strong> and File Space<\/strong> checks failed. After fixing failed check click on Retry<\/strong> button <\/span><\/p>\n

\na) Port Availaibity check<\/strong> : In my case port 8899 was in use<\/p>\n

To Identify which process is using port<\/strong> 8899 in linux<\/strong> run “netstat -tulpn | grep [Port_no]”<\/span>
\n[atul@innowave21 ~]$ netstat -tulpn | grep 8899
\n(Not all processes could be identified, non-owned process info
\nwill not be shown, you would have to be root to see it all.)
\ntcp 0 0 :::8899 :::* LISTEN 4536\/java
\nIn my case Process ID\u00a04536<\/strong> was using port 8899, stop the process using 8899 or use different port pool in previous screen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

10.<\/strong> Click Next<\/strong> and then Install<\/strong> when all checks complete successfully.<\/p>\n

11.<\/strong> After installation , access Application as http:\/\/host:port where port number is 8000+ port pool, as I use port pool 10 URL should be http:\/\/host:8010<\/p>\n
