Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition<\/strong> (OBIEE<\/strong>) 11g is a product that is part of\u00a0Oracle\u00a0Fusion Middleware<\/strong> family (other products are SOA, WebCenter, WebLogic, OHS, Identity & Access Management etc).<\/p>\n

During the installation of OBIEE, \u00a0one of Pre-requisite check<\/strong>: Kernel Parameter<\/strong> got failed<\/p>\n

These kernel parameters are stored in configuration file \u00a0\/etc\/ security\/ limits.conf<\/strong>\u00a0.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you look at the below screenshot, the file is updated for the\u00a0oracle<\/strong>\u00a0user.\u00a0 This is the user that trainee<\/strong> used to install the OBIEE 11g . Update the file similar to the below screenshot \u2013 at least meet the limit for which the pre-requisite check seeks. (or you can use * that means setting is applicable to all the users<\/span>)<\/p>\n

After Updating the limits.conf<\/strong>\u00a0file, reboot the Linux machine to ensure that setting stays even after reboot\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After the machine came up, We re-started the OBIEE 11g installation and as per the below screenshot and all pre-requisites passed successfully.\u00a0 The installation continued after that and was completed.<\/span><\/p>\n
