This post is from our Oracle Apps DBA\u00a0(R12.2) Training<\/a>\u00a0for E-Business Suite\u00a0\u00a0(In which we cover Architecture, Installation, File System, WebLogic Concepts, Patching, Cloning , Common Tasks and difference in 12.2 from previous version,<\/span>\u00a0Register\u00a0here for Oracle Apps DBA 12.2 Training <\/a>)<\/p>\n

One of the trainee from our current batch, having an issue in\u00a0Oracle\u00a0E-Business Suite R12.2<\/strong>\u00a0(EBS) installation where some of the post-install checks\u00a0(Help Page, Login Page, JSP, HTTP, Virtual Directory<\/span>)\u00a0<\/strong>was failed as shown below:<\/p>\n

Click on\u00a0<\/span>X<\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span>symbol, to know the error message for the issue as here I clicked on\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0X<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/b><\/span>symbol beside HTTP and it display, below\u00a0window with error message<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

After that I checked in EBS Installation logs \/u01\/oracle\/PROD\/fs1\/inst\/apps\/PROD_iamdemo07\/logs\/08261229.log\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span>for the root cause of the issue and below are the error messages:<\/span><\/p>\n

RW-50015: Error: – Http Server Virtual Directories is not responding. The service might not have started on the port yet. Please check the service and use the retry button.<\/span><\/p>\n

This Exception occurred at Thu Aug 27 05:03:07 BST 2015.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

javax.naming.CommunicationException [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: t3:\/\/<hostname>:7090: Destination unreachable; nested exception is:<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused; No available router to destination]<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Error while connecting Admin Server !!!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Exiting WebLogic Scripting Tool.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

.end std out.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

ERROR: Unable to add the loggers for oacore application<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

ERROR: Failed to create the EBS domain.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Failed to deploy the E-Business Suite domain<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0Then I came to know that EBS domain was not created and deployed successfully and When \u00a0I checked on AdminServer log file \/u01\/oracle\/PROD55\/fs1\/FMW_Home\/user_projects\/domains\/EBS_domain_PROD55\/servers\/AdminServer\/logs<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It was showing below error message:<\/span><\/p>\n

Caused By: java.io.FileNotFoundException: \/tmp\/.ovdlock.tmp (Permission denied)<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span>at java.io.RandomAccessFile.open(Native Method)<\/span>
\n<\/span>at java.io.RandomAccessFile.<init>(RandomAccessFile.java:233)<\/span>
\n<\/span>at oracle.ods.virtualization.config.ConfigureAdapters.configure(ConfigureAdapters.java:512)<\/span>
\n<\/span>at oracle.security.jps.internal.igf.ovd.OvdIGFServiceProvider.pushLdapNamesTolibOvd<\/span><\/p>\n

Fix for this issue:<\/span><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

1. As\u00a0<\/span>\/tmp\/.ovdlock.tmp<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>was not having permission Installation failed. So we have change the permission to 777 with below command:<\/span><\/p>\n

chmod -R 777 \/tmp\/.ovdlock.tmp<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

2. Another is to run the\u00a0<\/span>adProvision.pl<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0script which is located under\u00a0<\/span>$AD_TOP\/patch\/115\/bin\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>and delete failed EBS domain<\/strong> as<\/span><\/p>\n

perl adProvisionEBS.pl ebs-delete-tech<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span>-contextfile=\/u01\/oracle\/PROD55\/fs1\/inst\/apps\/PROD55_iamdemo07\/<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

appl\/admin\/PROD55_iamdemo07.xml -techtype=wls<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

3. Then again run the adProvision.pl<\/strong> script\u00a0which is located under\u00a0<\/span>$AD_TOP\/patch\/115\/bin\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>on both file system (RUN and Patch)<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>and Create\u00a0EBS domain<\/strong> as<\/p>\n

a) Run adProvision.pl<\/strong> script on RUN<\/strong> file system (fs1)<\/p>\n

perl adProvisionEBS.pl ebs-deploy-alltech<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span>-contextfile=\/u01\/oracle\/PROD55\/fs1\/inst\/apps\/PROD55_iamdemo07\/appl\/<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n<Aug 19, 2015 2:30:18 PM BST> <Warning> <JNDI> <BEA-050001> <WLContext.close() was called in a different thread than the one in which it was created.><\/span><\/p>\n

b) Run adProvision.pl<\/strong> script on Patch<\/strong> file system (fs2)<\/p>\n

perl adProvisionEBS.pl ebs-deploy-alltech<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span>-contextfile=\/u01\/oracle\/PROD55\/fs2\/inst\/apps\/PROD55_iamdemo07\/appl\/<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

admin\/PROD55_iamdemo07.xml\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

4. Start All EBS services as<\/p>\n

cd $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME<\/strong><\/p>\n

.\/adstrall.sh <apps_username>\/<apps_password><\/strong><\/p>\n

You should see below output:<\/span><\/p>\n

All enabled services for this node are started.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

adstrtal.sh: Exiting with status 0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

adstrtal.sh: check the logfile \/u01\/oracle\/PROD55\/fs1\/inst\/apps\/PROD55_iamdemo07\/logs\/appl\/admin\/log\/adstrtal.log for more information …<\/span><\/p>\n

This will create complete domain and managed servers.<\/span><\/p>\n

After that, clicked on\u00a0<\/span>Retry<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>button and all Post Install checks passed but one post install check\u00a0“WLS Domain Validation”<\/span><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>have warning message so we can ignore this and proceed further without having any issue as EBS Domain was successfully completed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 Installation completed successfully.<\/p>\n
