Hi shalini,
i have selected some where in google for upgrading document id for 11.5.7 – 11.5.10 Rebaseline
Oracle has made the rebaselined 11.5.7 – 11.5.10 technology components mandatory for the July 2006 and all subsequent CPUs. This may mean significant applications technology stack upgrades. See Metalink Note 363827.1 for a complete list of required patches for each version. The recommended patch level for all supported releases is 11i.ATG_PF.H RUP3 (patch 4334965). This required FND.G as a minimum and also OWF.G, OAM.H, and TXK Rollup L.
U just read this full document id 372931.1

and inform to is this correct document.i checked it has correct document.

thanks
lakshmi

Hi,

I am trying a fresh install of 11.5.10.2 on OEL5 and I have an error which I cannot resolve!

Basically I downloaded the media from edelivery and it seems that one of the datafiles is corrupt. Now edelivery have removed (11.5.10.2) from it’s download list! Does anyone know where I can get (11.5.10.2) to download, its not on OTN/Metalink either.

Any suggestions will be greatful!!

It would be great if you guys can share it using torrent/ any similar method to ensure that we can download it unattended.

Pradeep, 11.5.10 is not available on oracle site now. You have to raise SR via metalink to ship 11.5.10.2 media

@ Uday, I doubt if you can find any prebuilt vmware image for database.

To install Oracle database on Linux Guest O.S. in vmware use same method as you do in normal linux.

Are you hitting any issues at any specific point ? To transfer database software on Guest VMware use networking (check IP address of linux machine and use scp//sftp or filezilla to transfer software from windows host OS to Linux Guest OS)

Do download linux 4 software use http://edelivery.oracle.com/linux (register your self this site)

Hi Atul..

Atul Kumar says October 6, 2010

@ Uday, with VMware (server version is free) you can install N different guest OS (linux, solaris, windows) on one of your existing host O.S. (Windows XP in your case)

Reply
uday says October 6, 2010

Atul in this context I’m not asking about installing linux in vmware. But installing directly as a new os.

Reply
Atul Kumar says October 6, 2010

@ Uday,
You mean doing dual boot. Why do you want to configure dual boot when you now have option to run two OS at same time using virtualization ?

If you wish to install linux directly then use bootable disk/iso files .

uday says October 6, 2010

well den where can i download a bootable linux 4???

Reply
Atul Kumar says October 7, 2010

@ Uday,

To download linux 4 software use http://edelivery.oracle.com/linux (register your self this site)

When you burn/create CD mention that CD as bootable CD (There should be option in CD burning software to make it bootable)

Hi Atul,

I am OCP9i DBA and now want to expand my knowledge as an Apps DBA. I got the Oracle Apps architecture document to clear the concepts.
I want to start with the Apps11i installation, for downloading the installation files I made search at edelivery.oracle.com but could not able to find the installations for windows32 OS.
So can you please guide me regarding the same ?

With Regards

Hi Atul,

I search for the installations at the below link, but unfortunately could not able to find the installation files for windows OS.

http://onlineappsdba.com/index.php/2009/07/17/oracle-e-business-suite-erpapps-11510-software-download/

At the above link, installation is available for Linux-x86/64 but as such I don’t Linux on my machine and also being a beginner I want to understand the installation process first on windows OS, and for that I need 11.5.10.2 installation for windows OS, but could not able to find.

Is 11.5.10.2 installation available for windows OS ?

If it is mandatory to get it install on Linux only, then can you please provide me the link from where I can download the Linux OS ?

Regards

@ Milink,
If 11i on windows 32 bit is not available (Do you see 64 bit ? if yes use that as application anyway is 32 bit) if you don’t see 64 bit either then ask Oracle support team and if you have valid CSI (support) they will ship it to you.

Else try r12

For Linux (use Oracle Enterprise Linux) which is available at http://edelivery.oracle.com/linux

Hi Atul,

This is Moses. How are you doing?
Your blog is very helpful to me.
I tried to download 11.5.10.2 by using your link and also using your instructions, but I dint find none of the downloads as you mentioned in your post . For Ex
Oracle® Applications 11i Release 11.5.10.2 Rapid Install Start Here – Disk 1 (Part 1 of 7) B24280-01 Part 1 of 7 214M.
Could you please tell me if they anything has been changed or where I have to download them.
And please let me know the things need to be considered from the infrastructure, DB, Networking etc., point of view if I want to upgrade from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1 release.

Thanks

Atul:

I want to install 111.5.10.2 on linux following your instructions. But I don’t see “Oracle Applications 11i Release 10.2 Update media pack v1 for linux x86” in edelivery. I selected On demand and Linux. and only see “Oracle® E-Business Suite Certified Configuration Release 11.5.10 Media Pack for Linux x86”. All the files start B16xxxxx, not B242xxxxx. Would you please tell me where to down load the 11.5.10.2? Thank you very much in advance.

@ LZ,
I don’t think these files are available to download anymore. If you have valid CSI you should be able to raise SR to ship DVD to your office address.

LZ says November 18, 2011

Atul:
Thanks for your reply. This is for my own use so can’t raise a SR. Can I download 11.5.10 then apply a patch to 11.5.10.2?
Thanks.

Hi Atul,

I’m trying to upgrade our 11.5.9/9i environment and I’ve got up to 11.5.10CU2 and 10g but I have an issue that on the application tier server (which is a physically seperate server from the db server) the ORACLE_HOME is 8.0.6 and that needs to be newer. Oracle is unable to help (I guess this is desupported as it’s old).

Can you offer any advice as to what I need to download from edelivery to update the 8.0.6 to 8.1.7 or later on the apps tier, and what steps to install?

I’m on Oracle Linux 4 on the server.

Many thanks and what a great site.

Simon

    Simon,
8.0.6 Home on apps tier (for forms & reports) is still 8.0.6 on 11.5.10 CU2 (though there are few patches on 8.0.6 itself).

Where did you read that you have to upgrade 8.0.6 home to 8.1.7 ? (please share document and page number in that document)

SimonBarker says April 27, 2012

Wow that’s one fast response Atul!

It was an SR with Oracle that wanted me to run undoatgh.sql to clear some invalid data in apps as part of the upgrade to 12.

sqlplus needs to be 8.1.7 or higher to run undoatgh.sql so I guess just upgrading sqlplus would work but I’m not sure upgrading sqlpus on it’s own is wise.

Of course the alternative is to skip the Maint Wizard step that advises to clear any bad data (the step is recommended but not required).

Many thanks again

Simon

Atul Kumar says April 27, 2012

@ Simon,
If requirement is just to run undoatgh.sql to clear some invalid data in apps then don’t upgrade 8.0.6 home for that.

Copy undoatgh.sql and any dependent SQL (open this sql and see if this is calling any more sql) to DB tier and run them from db tier as user apps (or user mentioned by Oracle Support)

SimonBarker says April 27, 2012

Hi Atul,

I’ve tried running undoatgh.sql on the DB tier but I must admit I haven’t checked to see if there’s any dependant SQL.

I’ll give it a shot but many many thanks for your advice.

Tipping my hat in your direction :¬)
