๐Point-to-Site VPN Gateway Connection:
A Point-to-Site VPN gateway connection allows you to establish a secure connection to your virtual network from a single client computer.A Point to Site connection is established by starting it from the clientโs computer. This solution is very useful for telecommuters who want to connect to Azure VLANs from a remote location, such as at home or in a conference that is situated in different regions.
๐Protocols Used in Point-to-Site
Point-to-Site VPN can use one of the following protocols:
1. Open VPN Protocol: A SSL/TLS based VPN protocol. The TLS VPN solution can penetrate firewalls because most firewalls open TCP port 443 outbound using TLS. Open VPN can be used to connect from Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, and Mac devices.
2. Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol (SSTP): A proprietary TLS-based VPN protocol. A TLS VPN solution can induce firewalls because most firewalls open the outbound TCP port 443 that TLS uses. SSTP is only supported on Windows devices. Azure supports all versions of Windows using SSTP (Windows 7 and later).4. Now you can see your GatewaySubnet is available.
