Hi Atul – I have read through 4-5 of your articles , need some help and pointers regarding how to install ODI 11g (11.1.1.5.0) on Linux environment. We need High Availability feature as well, so we have a Linux box where Weblogic is installed – which steps should be followed to install ODI on Linux box, what are the options we need to select during installation. Can you please guide me and send me an email.
Thanks
Really appreciate your help.
Regards
Replyhi Atul,
from the oracle official site: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27559_01/install.1112/e27301/toc.htm
the doc for 11.1.2.0 IdAM installation doesn’t mention IAM is must, for the service provided by IDM – the OID OVD ODSM; the download site has OUD package can be downloaded separately.
do you think that’s kind of upgrade for Directory Services? oracle wants to change DS from sun odsee and some old system to OUD?
Regards,
Huide
@ Huide,
Oracle Identity Management mainly consists of
1) Directory Services
1.1 OID
1.2 ODSEE (DS)
1.3 OUD
1.4 OVD
2. Identity Management
2.1 OIM
etc
3. Access Management
3.1 OAM
etc
If you are are Sun DS customer then OUD is right upgrade path.
For Directory Service IAM is not required.
ReplyHi Atul,
Thanks for the quick response.
still have some questions here, could you please help?
1. Is Oracle Identity Management (IDM) 11.1.1.6 necessary for 11gR2 Oracle Identity & Access Management (IDAM) -11.1.2.0)?
2. could we just use OUD as DS for 11gR2 new install?

the reason I ask:
I didn’t see doc mentioned Oracle Identity Management installation from 11gR2 docs.

thanks for your reply.
have a nice day.

just reviewed my first question, IAM in that message should be Oracle Identity Management (IDM), the typo make the message messed up.
sorry about that.
