Apps Read only Schema in Oracle Applications

Often third party consulting/development of functional team need Apps Schema access to query underlying tables or database objects. Looking at importance and privileges of Apps Schema you as Oracle Apps DBA might not be interested in passing apps password to any one. You can create APPS read only schema so that users can query content but cannot edit or change anything.

As a general guideline Socket mode should be used for Intranet traffic and servlet for Internet. Socket mode is faster the servlet.

Hi Atul,
Is it possible to alter fnd_user table present in fnd_user in apps schema.
Actually i am working on integration of OIM with EBS i need to provision users between oim to ebs. But in OIM design console i don’t find firstname and lastname fields so that i created manually and created a process task adapter for them. But firstname and lastname fields are not updated in the target system.

Thanks & Regards,
Narendra.Ch
