We are in process of upgrading to R12 and I’m in charge of the OAM/OID authentication work. We are currently using 11.1.1.5 OID/OAM which is certifiec, but also looking at upgrading it. So yes I’m very interested in reviewing your book. Been studying many of Oracle’s documents on this already. Thanks for the offer.

Hi, Atul,

It would be a Privilège and honour to review your book as it’s gonna be an Enligtening experience for me
as am working as Fusion Apps DBA.

I won’t mind paying the Cost of the book.

I ‘ve the following doubt! Appreciate if you could give your thoughts on it.

1. Can the same Middleware home be used to install Both OID and OAM-OAAM components on a single host
in IDM 11gR2 version (11.1.2.1.0) ? as am facing some issues on doing the same.

Kind Regards

@ Priya,
I have finalised three reviewers already. If any one if these three don’t respond then I’ll contact you. Book will be out soon by next week.

Regarding your question :

Can the same Middleware home be used to install Both OID and OAM-OAAM components on a single host
in IDM 11gR2 version (11.1.2.1.0) ? as am facing some issues on doing the same.

Answer is that no you should avoid using same middleware home for OAM 11gR2 and OID 11g1 as JRF (oracle_common) are incompatible .

I am going to post on this soon .

Atul,
Thanks for the quick response,

I don’t think your Book require any reviews as you are an Imminent Authority on this subject.

Would consider myself lucky to get glimpsee of your
book at the earliest.

Could you tell a bit more as what could be the way
to Install Both OID and OAM-OAAM component using the same domain or on the same Host in IDM 11gR2. ?

Highly Appreciate the Response. as am struggling to get it done for the last few days.

Thanks
Priya

@ Priya,
You can install OID and OAM either on same host or different host (This is not an issue)

You must install both in different Middleware Home and Different domain for reason mentioned above else you will hit issue while configuring securityStore for OAM 11gR2 domain (OPSS)

Reply
Priya says October 28, 2013

Correct ! This i understand that 2 Middleware home need to be used one for OID and another for OAM-OAAM components for installation.

what’s creating confusion for me is how to extend the OID domain to use the same OAM-OAAM DOMAIN_HOME after instlling them in different Middleware home on the same server.?

In this scanrio which one OAM-OAAM or OID need to be install and configured first And how the later’s domain need to be extended i.e if after configuring the DB Policy store for OAM the OID domain should be extened to use the same OAM-OAAM DOMAIN_HOME ?

Need your Valuable input. Please.

Thanks
Priya

@ Priya,
As mentioend earlier you must install these two components (OID and OAM-OAAM) in two different WebLogic Domains.

Hope this is clear (slect option “create domain” while configuring OAM and OID )

Priya says October 28, 2013

Thanks for the quick response.

Wonder if it cause any Issue in using 2 Weblogic Domain
on the same host server. or is it fine 2 use Admin server up and running on the same host ?

Really Appreciating the Helpfull response.

Priya

Atul Kumar says October 28, 2013

@ Priya,
No, as long as you use different Admin Server port for two weblogic domains . This is covered in our book that should be out next week.

Atul,

Sorry to bother you again,

Would you mind giving your thougths on this issue.

I am not able to update httpd.conf with the Webgate configuration. While confguring OHS 11g with 11g Webgate

I am getting this error while running ./EditHttpConf -w /oracle/Middleware/Oracle_WT1/instances/instance1/config/OHS/ohs1/ -oh /oracle/Middleware/Oracle_OAMWebGate1/

Error: You don’t have sufficient access rights to run this tool.

The permission on ohs and webgate directory is fine

drwxrwxrwx 49 oracle dba 4096 Oct 25 16:13 OHS11g

Could you tell please.

I ‘ve followed this Doc http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/install.1111/e12002/webgate.htm

@ Priya,
Draft version of eBook “Oracle E-Business Suite R12 integrationw with OAM 11gR2 for SSO” is available at http://onlineappsdba.com/index.php/book/

Only for October and mid november 2013, you get second book (integration OAM 11gR1) free (when you buy OAM 11gR2).

Regarding your issue : check who owns “EditHttpConf” and what are permission set on this file.

This tool adds webgate.conf in httpd.conf so if this tool fails then you can manually update httpd.conf to include webgate.conf

Hi Atul,

I am one of the follower on your sites.
Your knowledge always helpful in real life scenarios.
I need one help from you.
Currently I am integrating OAM11g SSO functionality for custom ADF applications.
After enabling the SSO functionality when I tried to open the application URL(ex- http://rana.fusn.com:7777/TestAdfSecurity/faces/Home.jsf) it’s redirecting the Oracle Access Manager 11g page. After given the credential it’s redirecting the ADF application home page (http://rana.fusn.com:7777/TestAdfSecurity/faces/Home.jsf?_afrLoop=5045192333888&Adf-Window-Id=w0&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-state=6xc35fyj5_3&_afrRedirect=5045264247027).
But Home page showing blank.
If we access the ADF application home page using admin server port(we deployed the ADF application in Admin server) then it’s open and content of the adf application home page showing correctly it’s not showing blank.

Could you please help me to resolve the issue. I followed the steps mentioned at chapter-12 (OAM Integration with Fusion Middleware and EBS R12).

Waiting for your reply.

Thanks,
Tanmoy
