Hi Atul,

regarding the download of the Software: what 8.1.1.0 base install do you use? I tried using the one in eDelivery (Install shield based) but I get an error as soon as I start the installation… Is it mandatory to use the 8.1.1.0 OUI in support (a password is required)? Or do I have to do something different when creating the image if I use the 8.1.1.0 Install Shield from eDelivery?

Hi Atul,

That’s exactly what I’ve done. Download the whole zip files from eDelivery (8.1.1 and 8.1.1.10) and extract them in separate folders (8.1.1.0 and 8.1.1.10). Then I’ve run ./snic.sh and when prompted I’ve specified the location of the SBA_8.1.1.0_Base_Linux_Siebel_Enterprise_Server.jar… finally the OUI says the image has been created successfully and in the log.txt I see all 10 jar files have been extracted successfully. In products.txt I have the following:
[8.1.1.10]
Linux=Siebel_Enterprise_Server Siebel_Web_Server_Extension
[8.1.1.0]
Linux=Siebel_Enterprise_Server Siebel_Web_Server_Extension
The problem comes when I execute the runInstaller command: ./runInstaller -oneclick -jreLoc /usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.6.0_45 -invPtrLoc /etc/oraInst.loc -debug. I try creating a New Installation and when I get to the Installation Details and Progress screen and click Install it either freezes or it shows the error Empty Oracle Home Location Specified : OUI-10123.
