Hi Friends, I want to start posting Unix/Linux Administration concepts, as we are gettting lot of requests in the Forum. Since most of the Oracle Databases runs on Unix/Linux Platforms, as an Oracle DBA we need to have some Unix/Linux Knowledge, which we can not entirely depend on Unix/Linux Administrators. Here in coming posts, i will cover the basic concepts of Unix/Linux Administration, which compares each concept/commands in all Unix(HP-UX,Sun Solaris, IBM AIX) and Linux Distributions.
For an Overview, here I am listing out the Concepts, which i want to cover
(1) Introduction/Sysadmin Basics
(2) System startup and Shutdown
(3) User Management
(4) File System and Disk Management
(5) Processes
(6) Kernel Configuration
(7) Printer Configuration
(8) Job Scheduling
(9) Packages and Patches Management
(10) Networking
(11) Network File System(NFs)
(12) Backup and Recovery
(13) Pefromance Monitoring

Tahir,
If I understand your problem, your developer want a custom concurrent request which they can run which should bounce Apache on remote servers.
Is this your requirement ?
yes the concurrent programm should bounce apache, we have apps tier on three servers using shared apps tier.usually i have bounce apache from all the three servers one by one
Thanks
Tahir

Dani,
Is NIPrint means Netword Instrument Printer on windows ?
First you need to configure printer at o.s. level (from Unix to Windows) check with Printer Vendor or Unix administrator and then configure from apps (either by defining printer drivers or using preloaded driver or using PASTA)
