OAM Webgate installation Error:Internal Server Error
Hi, I would like to share my experience with issue in webgate which I faced during SSO integration in one of the target system. Previously the SSO integration is working fine. After some days when I try to access the target application resource, I have seen the error “Internal Server Error”; it displays the page as shown below.
Opened the http server error log file. The error message is as flow
[Fri Nov 19 4:23:54 2010] [error] [client 192.168.1.11] Oblix_OBWebGate_AuthnAndAuthz: Error: WebGate: Language initialization failed. Please check your language configuration.Cause: Initialization errors are often attributed to permissions issues. Permission Access denied. After investigation I found that Infra team had reconfigures the access privilege of the target machine. Because of this change, it affects the ownership of the directory.
Environment details:
The incorrect user/group was used when the WebGate was installed. In the httpd.conf file for the IHS listener, User/Group are specified as “nobody”.

Group nobody
The webgate installation, “root” was specified for the following question:“Enter the username the web server is running as [nobody]” .
Work Around:If the wrong user is specified during the installation of the WebGate, permission errors are thrown.
1. I try to reconfig the webgate using configureWebGate tool. And if this failed then try the next step.
2. Change the ownership of the fwebgate files.
a. Stop the web server.
b. Change Webgate files ownership to match that of the Webgate-enabled web server’s files.
c. Restart the web serverIf this fails, then re-install is suggested. Please refer the next step.
3. Reinstall the webgateTo implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
a. Reinstall the IHS WebGate.
b. Reinstall the WebGate and specify “nobody” during the installation of the WebGate when prompted with the following question:“Enter the username the web server is running as [nobody]”.
