Oracle Access Manager 11g is now certified with E-Business Suite (Apps) R12

.

If you are looking for Single Sign-On (SSO) solution with Oracle E-Business Suite R12 then you can now use Oracle Access Manager 11g .

As of today (30 April 2011) there are three main Single Sign-On solution certified with EBusiness R12

  • Oracle Access Manager 11g (using OID 11g as user repository) – Integration via EBS Access Gate 1.1.0.0.
Follow metalink note “1309013.1  Integrating Oracle E-Business Suite with Oracle Access Manager 11g using Oracle E-Business Suite AccessGate”
  • Oracle Access Manager 10g (using OID 10g/11g as user repository) – Integration via EBS Access Gate 1.0.2.0

  • Oracle AS 10g Single Single Sign-On (OSSO) – using OID 10g/11g as user repository and integration via mod_osso
Follow metalink note “376811.1Integrating Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 with Oracle Internet Directory and Oracle Single Sign-On”

Note: Oracle Internet Directory is mandatory for all three Single Sign-On solutions mentioned above.

I am going to cover OAM 11g integrationn with E-Business Suite in detail on this blog as well as in my book Oracle Identity and Access Manager 11g for Administrators . In mean time look for OAM 11g installation here , Oracle Internet Directory 11g installation here , steps on how to change OAM 11g’s Identity Store to Oracle Internet Directory here , and upgrading from OAM 11.1.1.3.0 to 11.1.1.3.2 here

We provided a dedicated module for Troubleshooting where we cover Logging in WebGate, OHS, EBS Accessgate, DIP, OAM, and OID in our EBS-OAM/OID Integration Training , more about training here

Hi,

I want to enable SSO for EBS R12 and choose OAM 11g for this. I have gew questions regarding this.

1. As per your post, OIM and SOA are not required. While running the RCU, should I select OIM schema?
2. While creating the domain using config.sh, should I select OIM as well?
3. I went ahead without choosing OIM and I am getting the below error while running config.sh for OAM

INST-6180: Error while retrieving OIM managed server url from the domain

Please help

@ lohithdc

Q1. As per your post, OIM and SOA are not required. While running the RCU, should I select OIM schema?

A1: Not required

Q2. While creating the domain using config.sh, should I select OIM as well?

A2: No

Q3. I went ahead without choosing OIM and I am getting the below error while running config.sh for OAM

A3: From which location you are picking config.sh ? At which stage you are getting error INST-6180 ? What products you selected during domain configuration ?

While creating the domain, I choose the below:

Oracle Access manager with database with database policy store
oracle JRF
Oracle adaptive access manager-server
Oracle adaptive access manager admin server
oracle wsm policy manager

After this I ran config.ql to configure OAM from the below location:
Middleware/oracle_IDM1/bin

while doing this, I am getting the error after entring weblogic admin server details

I see that I am able to access http://:7001

Thanks,
Lohith

@ lohithdc,
You don’t need “Oracle adaptive access manager-server & Oracle adaptive access manager admin server” (unless you want strong authentication)

Config.sh from Middleware/oracle_IDM1/bin is for OIM .

To create domain use config.sh from Middleware/oracle_common/common/bin

This and many more tips (including high availability deployment is covered in chapter 2 of my book at https://www.packtpub.com/oracle-identity-and-access-manager-11g-for-administrators/book

Hi Atul,

Thanks a lot for yoy prompt reply.

I was able to creat the domain and I passed that stage without any issues. The issue I am getting now is while configuring Identity manager by running Middleware/Oracle_IDM1/bin/config.sh.

while doing this, I am getting the error when I click next after entring weblogic admin server details

I see that I am able to access http://servername:7001

@ lohithdc,
You mentioned that you did not select OIM nor did you include OIM application domain then why are you configuring OIM.

If you want OIM or wish to configure OIM then select OIM while creating domain

I am ok now. If I need only Access manager, I need not run Middleware/Oracle_IDM1/bin/config.sh

I am oble to open oam console and seems to be fime. Please correct me if my understanding is incorrect.

Thanks for your help.

Lohith

@Lohithdc, Yes you are right. You don’t need Middleware/Oracle_IDM1/bin/config.sh is you want just OAM

Hi

I have the book E-Business Suite(R12) integration with OID/OAM for single sign on. In the book is necessary to aplly the patch 7651166 for EBS. I’m with version 12.0.6 of EBS and pacth is not compatible in this version.

I apllied the patchs 10220779 and 12408040 but the 12408040 is not aplly

Do You help me ?

Hi Atul/Neha,

I could use your e-book successfully to implement SSO for a single apps tier. Now I have to implement for a load balanced apps tier with four application tiers + an external webtier in DMZ for iSupplier portal.
DO you think, a separate web gate is required for each web tier, or just one for the load balanced internal system and one for the external iSupplier portal?

Pl elaborate! Will appreciate your feedback.

Thanks

Vivek

Atul,

May I know why an additional OHS is required to deploy Webgate as OHS already comes as a part of EBS 12.1
