If you are planning to install Oracle Access Manager on Windows with Active Directory with ADSI then after Access Server Installation, you would see Access Server Service missing. This is known bugin Oracle Access Manager (OAM) on Windows with ADSI option and documented in Oracle My Support Note 406233.1 Access Server Service Is Not Getting Created When Installed With ADSI. This bug was first reported in 10.1.4.0.1 but still applicable for OAM version 10.1.4.3 (I wish if Oracle Documentation Team could include this in their OAM Documentation)
.
Image shows services screen after Access Server installation and Service specific to Access Server (“Oracle Access Manager Access Server (XXXXX)“) is missing and Fix is to reinstall Access Server using configureAAAserver tool .
.
What is ADSI and how is it related to OAM ?
Active Directory Services Interface (ADSI) is of open interfaces that abstract the capabilities of directory services from different network providers to present a single view for accessing and managing network resources, Think of ADSI as client to Microsoft Active Directory. In OAM use of ADSI with AD (Active Directory) is optional. ADSI with ADAM (Active Directory Application Mode) is NOT supported in OAM.
