Great post and right on time as I am configuring the new 11R2.
The only thing I have problems with is the designation everyone has forth products.
IDAM – (OAM,OIM,OAAM,etc)
IDM- (OID,OUD,OVD,OIF)….
Alternativly I have seen IAM – which is what?
What do you think?
thanx,
David
@ David,
I knew that this comment will come , I wanted to name it as IDAM11gR2 but since everyone in Oracle Product management is using this release as IDM 11gR2 hence this title of series
and I can fully understand what you are going through 🙂
IAM in my view is Identity & Access Management.
FYI, OIF is moving away from IDM stack to IDAM, in 11gR2 OIF is part of Access Management which is under IDAM

ReplyCan I customize the Self Service screen based upon user type or role? I don’t want many of my users to see the Sandbox or Administration items.
Thanks!

ReplyDid you use OHS to access OIM 11gR2 sysadmin page or directly via OIM managed server port ?
ReplyHi Atul,
After logging on to sysadmin, if I click on the “Mange Connector” link, I get the error screen with message
”

Hi Atul.
I am great follower of your blog and also i have read the book written by you.
Here are my questions related to OIMR2 :-
Is the function of adding proxy to end users via admin account is enabled in OIM R2 as how we do it in R1.
Thanks,
Arun
Hi Atul,
In OIM 11g R1 , the authorization policy is implemented in an embedded OES engine.
While in OIM 11g R2 , it is seperated from OIM completely and the changes to these auth policies has to be implemented in OES server seperately.
Is this understanding correct?
ReplyHi,
I am registering a new user, after I approve the request with the admin login the request fails and in the request details “Organization fields” comes blank.
Please advice me on creating the a user in OIM with self registration.
Thanks.

Vijay
Hi,
I was working with OIM 10G, we are now migrating to 11G R2.
Had a doubt, how to make Process Defintion and adapters here. Do we have a tab/link for Adapter or is it changed to any new name or link ?
Thanks
